Assel and CO Lifetime Warranty
Effective Date: Jan 2, 2025
Assel and CO (“Assel and CO” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to ensuring that your lab-grown diamond jewelry meets the highest quality standards. Our Lifetime Warranty is designed to give you peace of mind and to protect you against manufacturing defects for as long as you own your jewelry. Please read through these conditions to understand what is covered and how to claim Warranty service.
1. What Is Covered
1.1 Manufacturing Defects
Our Lifetime Warranty covers any defects in materials or craftsmanship under normal use. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Loose or lost stones due to faulty setting or workmanship.
- Defects in metal craftsmanship, such as soldering or structural integrity.
- Issues related to prongs or mounts that prevent the stone from being securely held.
1.2 Eligible Products
This Warranty applies to:
- Lab-grown diamond engagement rings, wedding bands, and fine jewelry purchased directly from Assel and CO.
- Any ring or jewelry piece that has not been altered or serviced by a third party in a way that would compromise the integrity of the product.
2. What Is Not Covered
2.1 Normal Wear and Tear
While lab-grown diamonds are extremely durable, daily wear may lead to scratches, dings, or minor discoloration over time. This Warranty does not cover damage or deterioration caused by:
- Normal wear and tear (including small surface scratches or metal wear).
- Misuse, abuse, or accidental damage (e.g., dropping your ring, exposure to chemicals, or extreme force).
- Loss or theft of the jewelry, including center stones or side stones, resulting from any incident not directly attributable to a manufacturing defect.
2.2 Unauthorized Modifications
Any repairs, alterations, or resizing performed by a jeweler or entity other than Assel and CO will void this Warranty. This includes but is not limited to:
- Resizing that compromises the structural integrity of the ring.
- Replacing or resetting stones with non-original or mismatched components.
- Engraving or modification that weakens the ring or setting.
2.3 Improper Care
Failure to follow recommended care and cleaning instructions may also void this Warranty. We are not responsible for damage caused by improper maintenance or cleaning techniques.
3. Lifetime Services and Maintenance
3.1 Inspection and Cleaning
We encourage you to have your jewelry inspected and cleaned periodically. Routine check-ups can help identify potential issues early, such as loose prongs or worn metal.
- Some services, like basic cleaning and inspection, may be offered free of charge or at a nominal fee (check with our customer service for current offerings).
- Over time, white gold rings may require re-plating (rhodium) to maintain brightness; re-plating is considered normal maintenance and is not covered under this Warranty.
3.2 Stone Tightening and Prong Retipping
If, during an inspection, our experts determine that a prong needs retipping or a stone requires tightening, we will advise you on any applicable service fees and timelines. Issues identified as manufacturing defects will be repaired at no cost.
4. Claiming Warranty Service
4.1 Proof of Purchase
To qualify for Warranty coverage, you must be able to provide:
- The original purchase receipt or order number.
- Any documentation provided at the time of purchase (e.g., diamond certificates, appraisals).
4.2 Initiating a Claim
Contact our customer service team at support@asseldiamonds.com to discuss your Warranty claim. You may be asked to:
- Provide photographs or a detailed description of the issue.
- Ship or bring the item to our designated facility for inspection (instructions will be provided).
4.3 Shipping and Insurance
You are responsible for safely shipping your jewelry to our service center. We recommend insuring the package for its full retail value. We will cover the cost of return shipping for approved Warranty repairs within the United States. If you are located outside the U.S., additional shipping fees or customs charges may apply.
5. Repair or Replacement Decisions
Upon receiving and inspecting your jewelry:
- If we confirm the issue is a manufacturing defect, we will repair or replace the item (or relevant component) at no cost to you.
- If the damage is not covered under this Warranty (e.g., normal wear and tear or accidental damage), we will provide an estimate for repair services before proceeding.
6. Limitations of Coverage
6.1 No Implied Warranty Extension
This Lifetime Warranty provides specific legal rights and remedies, and does not extend any implied warranties beyond those permissible under Washington State law. Some states do not allow limitations on implied warranties, so the above limitation may not apply to you.
6.2 Exclusion of Certain Damages
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Assel and CO shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of or related to the use or inability to use the jewelry. Liability for any covered defect is limited to the repair or replacement of the original item.
6.3 State-Specific Rights
This Warranty gives you specific legal rights; you may have other rights that vary from state to state. If you reside in Washington State or another jurisdiction with additional consumer protection regulations, some or all of these exclusions or limitations may not apply.
7. Transferability
This Warranty is extended to the original purchaser or gift recipient only and is not transferable. If you sell or otherwise transfer ownership of the jewelry, this Warranty becomes void.
8. Changes to This Warranty
We reserve the right to modify or discontinue this Warranty at any time. However, any changes will not retroactively affect coverage for items purchased prior to the effective date of the modification.
