Warranty
Assel and CO Limited Lifetime Warranty
Effective Date: August 3, 2026
This Limited Lifetime Warranty is provided by Incastle LLC, doing business as Assel and CO (“Assel and CO,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). It applies to eligible lab-grown diamond jewelry purchased directly from Assel and CO.
This Warranty covers qualifying manufacturing defects during the period in which the original purchaser or original gift recipient owns the jewelry, subject to the terms, exclusions, and claim procedures described below.
For purposes of this Warranty, “lifetime” means the period during which the original purchaser or original gift recipient owns the jewelry. It does not mean the natural lifetime of the purchaser, the recipient, or the indefinite useful life of the jewelry.
Please review this Warranty carefully to understand what is covered, what is excluded, and how to request warranty service.
1. Warranty Coverage
1.1 Manufacturing Defects
This Limited Lifetime Warranty covers defects in materials or workmanship that existed at the time of manufacture and become apparent during normal use.
Covered manufacturing defects may include:
-
Defects in the original metalwork, soldering, or structural construction of the jewelry.
-
Defective prongs, mounts, bezels, or other setting components that prevent a stone from being securely held.
-
Loose stones caused solely and directly by a defect in the original setting or workmanship.
-
A stone that is lost solely and directly because of a confirmed manufacturing defect in the original setting, subject to inspection and verification by Assel and CO.
All warranty claims are subject to inspection and approval by Assel and CO.
1.2 Eligible Products
This Warranty applies only to:
-
Lab-grown diamond engagement rings, wedding bands, and other eligible fine jewelry purchased directly from Assel and CO.
-
Products purchased through the Assel and CO website or another authorized Assel and CO sales channel.
-
Products owned by the original purchaser or original gift recipient.
-
Products accompanied by valid proof of purchase.
Coverage begins on the original purchase date shown on the Assel and CO receipt, invoice, or order confirmation.
1.3 Original Gift Recipients
If the jewelry was purchased as a gift, this Warranty may apply to the original gift recipient. We may require the original order number, purchaser information, receipt, or other documentation to confirm eligibility.
2. What Is Not Covered
2.1 Normal Wear and Tear
Jewelry is subject to wear through normal use. This Warranty does not cover normal wear, aging, maintenance, or gradual deterioration, including:
-
Scratches, dents, dings, scuffs, or surface marks.
-
Metal discoloration, tarnishing, fading, or loss of finish.
-
Gradual thinning, wearing, bending, or weakening of prongs, bands, chains, clasps, or other components.
-
Rhodium plating wear or changes in the appearance of white gold.
-
Changes in polish, texture, or surface finish.
-
Routine cleaning, polishing, maintenance, or restoration.
-
Damage caused by continuing to wear jewelry after a loose stone, damaged prong, bent setting, or other visible issue becomes apparent.
2.2 Accidental Damage, Misuse, and Abuse
This Warranty does not cover damage resulting from an accident, misuse, abuse, negligence, or use outside the product’s intended purpose.
Examples include:
-
Dropping, crushing, bending, striking, or applying excessive force to the jewelry.
-
Damage caused by sports, exercise, manual labor, machinery, tools, or other physical activity.
-
Exposure to chemicals, chlorine, bleach, cleaning products, cosmetics, extreme heat, or other harmful substances.
-
Improper storage, handling, cleaning, or maintenance.
-
Damage caused by pets, children, third parties, or environmental conditions.
-
Damage resulting from failure to follow care instructions provided by Assel and CO.
2.3 Lost or Stolen Jewelry
This Warranty does not cover:
-
Loss or theft of the jewelry.
-
Jewelry that cannot be provided to Assel and CO for inspection.
-
Unexplained disappearance of a center stone, side stone, or other component.
-
Stone loss caused by impact, bent or worn prongs, accidental damage, improper care, unauthorized alteration, or normal wear and tear.
Stone loss may be covered only when Assel and CO determines, after inspection and review, that the loss occurred solely and directly because of a manufacturing defect in the original setting.
2.4 Third-Party Repairs and Modifications
This Warranty does not cover defects or damage caused by or resulting from repairs, resizing, alteration, engraving, stone replacement, stone resetting, refinishing, or other services performed by anyone other than Assel and CO.
Examples include:
-
Resizing that weakens or damages the ring.
-
Replacement or resetting of stones using non-original, incompatible, or improperly installed components.
-
Engraving or modification that weakens the jewelry or its setting.
-
Improper soldering, polishing, plating, or refinishing.
-
Damage caused during inspection, repair, or maintenance by another jeweler or service provider.
Third-party service does not automatically cancel coverage for an unrelated manufacturing defect. However, Assel and CO may deny coverage when the third-party work prevents us from determining the original cause of the problem or contributes to the claimed damage.
2.5 Improper Care and Maintenance
This Warranty does not cover damage caused by improper care, improper cleaning, chemical exposure, lack of reasonably necessary maintenance, or failure to follow Assel and CO’s care instructions.
Periodic inspection is recommended but is not, by itself, a condition of warranty coverage. However, damage caused by continuing to wear jewelry after a loose stone, damaged prong, cracked component, or other problem becomes noticeable is not covered.
2.6 Changes in Finger Size or Personal Preference
This Warranty does not cover:
-
Changes in finger size.
-
Resizing requested because of weight changes, pregnancy, medical conditions, temperature changes, or personal preference.
-
A change of mind regarding the size, style, appearance, finish, stone shape, stone color, setting, or design.
-
Requests to modify or upgrade the jewelry after purchase.
2.7 Gemological Characteristics
This Warranty does not cover characteristics that are natural or expected in lab-grown diamonds, gemstones, or jewelry materials, including:
-
Minor variations in color, clarity, dimensions, weight, proportions, or appearance.
-
Characteristics already identified in a gemological report or product description.
-
Differences in appearance caused by lighting, photography, screens, settings, or viewing conditions.
-
Normal variation between an original component and a replacement component.
3. Inspections, Cleaning, and Maintenance
3.1 Recommended Inspections
We recommend having your jewelry inspected and professionally cleaned periodically. Routine inspections may help identify loose stones, worn prongs, weakened metal, or other maintenance needs before more serious damage occurs.
Contact customer service for information about currently available inspection and cleaning services. Services may be offered free of charge or for a fee, depending on the work required, location, and current service policy.
3.2 Routine Maintenance
Routine maintenance is not considered a manufacturing defect and is not covered by this Warranty.
Routine maintenance may include:
-
Cleaning and polishing.
-
Rhodium plating or re-plating.
-
Prong tightening caused by normal wear.
-
Prong rebuilding or retipping caused by wear.
-
Resizing.
-
Refinishing.
-
Replacement of worn clasps, chains, settings, or other components.
Before performing non-warranty work, we will provide information about applicable charges and request your approval.
3.3 Stone Tightening and Prong Repair
If an inspection determines that a stone requires tightening or that a prong requires repair or retipping, we will determine whether the issue resulted from a manufacturing defect or from normal wear, accidental damage, improper care, or another excluded cause.
Repairs for confirmed manufacturing defects will be completed without charge, subject to the terms of this Warranty.
Non-warranty repairs may be available for an additional fee.
4. How to Request Warranty Service
4.1 Proof of Purchase
To request warranty service, you may be required to provide:
-
The original Assel and CO order number, receipt, or invoice.
-
The purchaser’s name and contact information.
-
Any diamond certificate, gemological report, appraisal, or documentation provided with the product.
-
Photographs or videos showing the claimed issue.
-
A detailed description of when and how the issue occurred.
-
Any other information reasonably necessary to evaluate the claim.
Failure to provide sufficient proof of purchase or product information may delay the review or make the product ineligible for coverage.
4.2 Initiating a Claim
To initiate a warranty claim, contact:
Email: support@asseldiamonds.com
Phone: +1 (425) 246-4698
Do not ship jewelry to Assel and CO until you have contacted customer service and received shipping instructions.
We may first request photographs, videos, documentation, or additional information. A preliminary review based on photographs or descriptions does not constitute final approval of a warranty claim.
4.3 Inspection Requirement
The jewelry must generally be received and inspected by Assel and CO before we can determine whether the issue is covered.
After inspection, we will determine whether:
-
The issue is a covered manufacturing defect.
-
The issue is excluded from coverage.
-
Additional information or evaluation is required.
-
A non-warranty repair may be offered.
Assel and CO’s inspection findings will be based on the condition of the jewelry, available documentation, and the information provided with the claim.
5. Shipping and Insurance
5.1 Shipping Jewelry to Assel and CO
Unless otherwise required by law, the customer is responsible for securely packaging, insuring, and shipping the jewelry to the service location designated by Assel and CO.
We strongly recommend:
-
Using a trackable shipping service.
-
Requiring a signature upon delivery.
-
Insuring the shipment for its full replacement or retail value.
-
Avoiding packaging that identifies the contents as jewelry.
-
Retaining the tracking number, shipping receipt, and insurance documentation.
Assel and CO is not responsible for jewelry that is lost, stolen, damaged, or misdirected before it is received and documented at our designated facility.
5.2 Return Shipping
For approved warranty claims within the United States, Assel and CO will generally cover standard return shipping to the address confirmed during the warranty process.
The customer may be responsible for shipping, insurance, handling, customs duties, taxes, brokerage charges, and other fees related to:
-
Sending the jewelry to Assel and CO.
-
A denied warranty claim.
-
A non-warranty repair.
-
Expedited or upgraded shipping.
-
International shipments.
-
An incorrect, incomplete, or undeliverable address.
-
A refused or returned shipment.
Due to security and fraud-prevention requirements, return-shipping addresses may be subject to verification and cannot always be changed after the return shipment has been arranged.
5.3 International Warranty Claims
International customers may be responsible for all inbound and outbound shipping costs, insurance, customs duties, import or export fees, brokerage charges, taxes, and other international shipping expenses.
Assel and CO is not responsible for customs delays, seizures, restrictions, or charges imposed by a government, customs authority, or shipping carrier.
6. Warranty Remedies
6.1 Repair or Replacement
If Assel and CO confirms that the issue is covered by this Warranty, we will provide an appropriate remedy at no charge for the covered defect.
Depending on the nature of the defect, available remedies may include:
-
Repairing the original item.
-
Repairing or replacing the affected component.
-
Resetting or replacing a qualifying stone.
-
Replacing the item with a comparable product.
-
Providing another remedy required by applicable law.
Assel and CO will determine the appropriate remedy based on the product’s condition, the nature of the defect, repair feasibility, availability of materials, availability of replacement components, and applicable law.
6.2 Replacement Products and Components
An exact replacement may not always be available. Replacement stones, metals, settings, components, or products may differ slightly from the original in color, clarity, weight, dimensions, proportions, appearance, finish, design, or other characteristics.
When an exact replacement is unavailable, we may use a comparable component or product of similar type, quality, and value, where reasonably appropriate.
Replacement or repaired products remain covered only for the remainder of the original Warranty period. A repair or replacement does not create a new lifetime warranty period.
6.3 Non-Warranty Repairs
If the issue is not covered, we may provide an estimate for repair, replacement, maintenance, or other service.
No paid repair will be performed without your approval. If you decline the estimate, you may be responsible for return shipping, insurance, inspection fees, or other disclosed charges.
6.4 Service Timeframes
Repair and replacement timeframes are estimates and may vary depending on:
-
Inspection results.
-
Availability of materials or replacement stones.
-
Product design and complexity.
-
Production requirements.
-
Third-party laboratory or specialist evaluations.
-
Shipping and customs processing.
-
Other circumstances outside our reasonable control.
We will provide an estimated service timeframe after the inspection is completed. We do not guarantee a specific completion or delivery date unless expressly confirmed in writing.
7. Limitations of Coverage
7.1 Exclusive Warranty Remedy
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the remedies described in this Warranty are the exclusive remedies available under this Limited Lifetime Warranty.
Nothing in this Warranty limits any remedy or consumer right that cannot legally be limited.
7.2 Exclusion of Certain Damages
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Assel and CO and Incastle LLC will not be liable under this Warranty for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential damages, including loss of use, sentimental value, lost profits, or costs related to obtaining substitute jewelry.
For a covered manufacturing defect, our liability will generally be limited to the repair or replacement of the affected product or component, subject to applicable law.
7.3 Implied Warranties and Legal Rights
This Limited Lifetime Warranty provides specific legal rights. You may also have other rights that vary by state or jurisdiction.
Nothing in this Warranty excludes, restricts, or modifies any implied warranty, statutory warranty, consumer protection right, or other legal right that cannot legally be excluded, restricted, or modified.
Some states do not permit certain limitations on implied warranties or the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages. In those states, some of the limitations or exclusions in this Warranty may not apply.
8. Transferability
This Warranty applies only to the original purchaser or original gift recipient and is not transferable.
If the jewelry is sold, resold, assigned, or otherwise transferred to another person, warranty coverage ends unless applicable law requires otherwise.
9. Changes to This Warranty
We reserve the right to modify, replace, or discontinue this Warranty for future purchases at any time.
Changes will not retroactively reduce the warranty coverage applicable to eligible jewelry purchased before the effective date of the revised warranty.
The warranty terms in effect on the original purchase date will generally apply to the product, unless a later version provides greater coverage or applicable law requires otherwise.
10. Relationship to Other Policies
This Warranty should be read together with the Assel and CO Terms and Conditions, Return Policy, Shipping Policy, product information, care instructions, and any other policies provided with the purchase.
If there is a conflict concerning warranty coverage, this Limited Lifetime Warranty will control unless otherwise required by applicable law.
